The Arkansas Newspaper Foundation (ANF) is the non-profit educational arm of the Arkansas Press Association that provides services to 29 daily newspapers, eight semi-weekly newspapers and 103 weekly newspapers across the state. The board is made up of six newspaper publishers who represent the diverse regions of Arkansas.

Summer Internships for Journalism Majors
The Arkansas Newspaper Foundation (ANF) annually coordinates summer internships available to journalism majors in Arkansas colleges and universities. While all divisions of journalism are welcome, heaviest consideration is given to newspaper journalism majors (including advertising), to juniors and seniors and to students with working experience (part-time jobs and internships).

Applications for the “Write for Arkansas” grants are now available.
Nominations for Oustanding Young Journalists Sought
The Arkansas Press Association is calling for nominations for the newly-created Outstanding Young Journalist Award.
Sunshine Week starts March 14

This year's Sunshine Week celebration, to be observed March 14-20, will honor individuals who fought tirelessly last year to make their state or local public institutions more open and accessible.

Adobe Workshop
Russell Viers, Internationally Certified Adobe Instructor, will be giving his tricks of InDesign/Photoshop on Thursday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. He will be at the Durand Conference Center in Harrison, AR. Registration is $20 and includes lunch. To register, please download the registration form via the link below and return to the APA office.
Contest entries due Mar. 31
The deadline for submitting entries for the 2010 Better Newspaper News/Editorial Contest is Wed., March 31, by 5:00 p.m. All entries must be received by that time or postmarked by that date. Rules and entry forms have been sent to all APA members, but additional copies may be downloaded by clicking the link below:
APA Advertising Conference
The 2010 APA Advertising Conference will be held March 11-12 at the Clarion on the Lake in Hot Springs. Among the highlights will be the annual Awards Banquet honoring winners of the 2010 Better Newspaper Advertising Contest and an APA "Day at the Races" at Oaklawn Park. Mark your calendars and plan on coming.
